Guitar Duo ‘Maccari and Pugliese’

Claudio Maccari and Paolo Pugliese are definitely a Classical Guitar duo who really amaze!

They use 19th century style classical guitars (gut strings I believe), they play the entire repertoire from memory and, they stand to do it!
They leave you wondering why we choose to sit to play.  These animated players add something quite special to the music in so many ways: it really comes alive.

I bet one of the first things you’re going to do after you see these two perform, is to sling your classical guitar around your neck and try out a few moves…because that’s what I did!  I must admit that it felt a little like I standing up in public with my pants down: awkward and exposed if you know what I mean…but being able to move your body to the music like a violinist is, at the very least my friends, worthy of a try.

Seriously, the virtuosity of these two players is just marvellous to witness.

The guitar duo music of Sor and Giuliani is great to listen to and to play also.  You can learn some very interesting Guitar technique from that music: worth checking out…most definitely.
